Intercultural Governance in Italy? Critical Issues between Migration and Postmigration The paper discusses, with a theoretical-methodological approach, the integration processes of stabilized immigrants in Italy regarding their agency and the role they can play in the ongoing territorial transformations. To this end, some experiences that propose an active geography at the local level are here presented, supporting the construction of a society of diversity, in an attempt to provide guidance tools for the inhabitants, whatever the migration project that moves them, starting from their lived space. The question arises as to whether an intercultural governance, capable of pragmatically addressing the composite reality of arrivals and stays linked to international migration, should grow, which would make immigrants a structural and long-term resource for the demographic, social and economic development of the country system and for the well-being of local communities.
Il contributo discute, con taglio teorico-metodologico, sui processi di integrazione degli immigrati stabilizzati in Italia in merito alle dinamiche di agency in cui sono coinvolti e al ruolo che possono svolgere nelle trasformazioni territoriali in atto. A questo fine vengono presentate alcune esperienze che propongono una geografia attiva a livello locale, di supporto alla costruzione di una società delle diversità, nel tentativo di fornire strumenti di orientamento per gli abitanti, qualunque sia il progetto migratorio che li muove, a partire dal loro spazio vissuto. Ci si interroga sulla opportunità di fare crescere una governance interculturale in grado di affrontare pragmaticamente la composita realtà degli arrivi e delle permanenze legate alle migrazioni internazionali, che faccia diventare gli immigrati una risorsa strutturale e di lunga durata per lo sviluppo demografico, sociale ed economico del sistema-paese e per il benessere delle comunità locali.
