The Park Plan (PP) is a key instrument for managing a National Park. In accordance with Law No. 394/1991, the zoning map is one of the fundamental documents of the “Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga” National Park, which classifies the territory into areas with different levels of protection, based on their geological, ecosystem and human settlement features. It also shows the specific management goals of each area to be accomplished in order to achieve the institutional objectives of the protected area as a whole. In the process of drawing up the Park Plan, the Carta della Natura proved to be an essential tool for adjusting the zoning, in response to the observations submitted by citizens, as well as to ensure a homogeneous management on the territory.

Abstract
The Park Plan (PP) is a key instrument for managing a National Park. In accordance with Law No. 394/1991, the zoning map is one of the fundamental documents of the “Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga” National Park, which classifies the territory into areas with different levels of protection, based on their geological, ecosystem and human settlement features. It also shows the specific management goals of each area to be accomplished in order to achieve the institutional objectives of the protected area as a whole. In the process of drawing up the Park Plan, the Carta della Natura proved to be an essential tool for adjusting the zoning, in response to the observations submitted by citizens, as well as to ensure a homogeneous management on the territory.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
