Meniscal tears are common lesions in orthopaedic surgery. They represent almost 2/3 of all knee lesions, to which can be associated, depending on type and energy of trauma, ligament lesions. Meniscectomy can resolve symptoms but could also create joint instability and increase mechanical loads. This determinates a progressive cartilage damage ending in osteoarthritis. According to this, we need to repair meniscal tears when possible. Several repair techniques have been proposed by different authors: inside-out and outside-in. The latest generation of arthroscopic repair is the all-inside technique, developed in order to decrease neuro-vascolar complications and surgical time by a mini-invasive procedure. In 1993 meniscus arrows have been presented, with promising short-term results. We retrospectively analyse 59 consecutive patients treated with Meniscus Arrow from 1995 to 2002 in our Department. The outcomes have been evaluated according to age of patients, lesion pattern and associated joint lesions.
