La razionalizzazione dell'irrazionale. Un confronto tra Nietzsche e Weber

In scientific literature, the comparison between Nietzsche and Weber is seen in different, nay opposite ways. Some scholars emphasize their consonance, whereas others stress that an unbridgeable distance exists between them. In fact, besides some significant divergences, there is undoubtedly a profound affinity between the two authors, not only as far as the similarity between their themes, concepts and semantics is concerned, but, first and foremost, for the common ontological conception that permeates the whole of their thought. In this perspective, knowledge seen as hermeneutics, scientific thinking, religion, morals, law and politics achieve new light and find their place in a new framework, that unbiased interpreters are called upon to describe, along that line of intellectual honesty which marks the personality of both Nietzsche and Weber.

Il confronto tra Nietzsche e Weber ha assunto, nella letteratura critica, tonalità diverse, persino opposte: alcuni studiosi hanno enfatizzato le corrispondenze nietzscheane presenti nella riflessione weberiana; altri, al contrario, hanno accentuato la distanza tra i due pensatori. Accanto a qualche significativa divergenza, vi è – in realtà – una profonda affinità tra Nietzsche e Weber: non soltanto per quanto concerne le somiglianze tematiche, le consonanze concettuali e le parentele semantiche ravvisabili nelle loro opere, ma anche (e soprattutto) per la comune concezione ontologica che, in quanto tale, permea di sé tutte le altre possibili attinenze. La conoscenza come ermeneutica, il sapere scientifico, la sociologia della religione, la morale, il diritto, la politica ricevono così una nuova luce ed un nuovo inquadramento, che è compito dell’interprete restituire senza forzature e senza pregiudizi, tentando di seguire quella linea di probità intellettuale che è la cifra tanto di Nietzsche quanto di Weber.
