In the social sciences research on migrants integration uses mainly methodological approaches combining the practice of participant observation with in-depth interviews based on the life story. The essay, aimed to introduce a geographic approach in these studies, is intended to enrich the usual methodological tools by interviews based on semi-structured questionnaires, which, thanks to a homogeneous analytical grid, facilitate the comparison between different spatial contexts. This allows to operate comparative analysis between different territories and the emergence of territorial specificities in the process of reception of migrants, economic integration and social interaction. After an introduction on the concepts of territory and inter-culture, this issue is addressed both from a theoretical point of view and with the help of a study-case through the comparative analysis of the results of inquiries carried out in several towns of Tuscany.
