Ateismo, neutralità dell'istruzione pubblica e pluralismo delle opzioni formative

The commitment of public institutions for the protection of religion, understood as a human attitude towards transcendence, and as such worthy of protection in all its possible outward expressions, determines the consequence that any option regarding the relationship with religion, including also the atheism and theindifference, is subject to protection as a projection of the ideal wealth emanating from the human personality. One of the first areas where the neutrality of public facilities should allow a wider dissemination for the variety of the ideals, that are socially detectable, is the education of the younger generation.

L’impegno delle pubbliche istituzioni alla tutela della religiosità, intesa come attitudine umana nei confronti della trascendenza, e come tale degna di protezione in tutte le sue possibili estrinsecazioni, determina la conseguenza per cui qualsiasi opzione relativa al rapporto con la religione, comprendendo anche l’ateismo e l’indifferentismo, è oggetto di tutela in quanto proiezione della ricchezza ideale promanante dalla personalità umana. Uno dei primissimi ambiti in cui la neutralità delle strutture pubbliche dovrebbe consentire ampia diffusione alla varietà degli orientamenti ideali socialmente rilevabili è quello dell’istruzione delle giovani generazioni.
