This article aims to analyze the diffusion of the Debate methodology within the academic context. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a need to rethink school organization of all levels and also within the University. Currently university teaching, especially in the training of the teachers, it’s not oriented toward the development of soft skills, probably for a natural continuation in the use of traditional methodologies for the knowledge transmission. Considering the reference literature explored so far, it is possible to state that the Debate is an effective methodology to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Within the contribution there is a description of an experiment started in the last academic year (2019/2020) and also carried out in the current academic year (2020/2021) at the University of Molise.
Questo contributo ha lo scopo di analizzare il livello di diffusione di utilizzo della metodologia del Debate all’interno del mondo accademico. In seguito alla pandemia Covid-19, vi è stata la necessità di ripensare la scuola di ogni ordine e grado ed anche all’interno del contesto universitario. L’attuale di-dattica universitaria, anche per quanto concerne la formazione iniziale dei docenti, non sembra orientata allo sviluppo di soft skills, piuttosto per una naturale prosecuzione nell’utilizzo di metodologie tradizionali di trasmis-sione delle conoscenze disciplinari che per la reticenza/contrarietà ad adot-tare metodologie didattiche innovative. In questo contesto si pone l’utilizzo del Debate in ambito universitario; infatti, considerando la letteratura di ri-ferimento fino ad ora esplorata, è possibile affermare che il Debate sia una metodologia efficace per l’educazione al pensiero critico e alla capacita di problem-solving. All’interno del contributo è presente la descrizione di una sperimentazione avviata nello scorso anno accademico (2019/2020) e portata avanti anche nell’anno accademico in corso (2020/2021) presso l’Università degli Studi del Molise.
