In this contribution, the authors address some central questions: how did the medical emergency challenge interpersonal trust and the trust of citizens in science, politics and media? The Covid-19 pandemic has generated a broad feeling of uncertainty in social relationships and has had a significant impact on different forms of trust and mistrust.
