Paul Ricoeur, un'etica per la medicina e l'intelligenza artificiale

In his later years, Paul Ricoeur suggested avenues of research that are surprisingly proving fruitful at this moment in history. We are trying to get out of an exceptional pandemic that has shocked the whole world, from a health and socio-economic point of view, and at the same time we are opening up to the revolutionary change of the applications of artificial intelligence and the technological transformation of our bodies and environments. In his books, Ricoeur has offered us a medical ethics, a close confrontation with neuroscience and even a precise interpretation of the relationship between the biological and the mental brain that can become valuable tools for philosophical understanding of today. In the pages of this contribution there is an attempt to reflect on the actuality of this Ricœurian phenomenological legacy: from the three levels of medical judgement to questions about subjectivity and the mental object that are relevant to current research on artificial intelligence.
