Promozione della salute mentale nella popolazione adolescente migrante attraverso l'uso delle nuove tecnologie

The thesis deals with a very ambitious project which on the one hand is in line with the growing needs related to the health problems of migrant populations and on the other deals with the specific mental health problems of the migrant adolescent. The purpose of the thesis is to identify an effective system that allows new technologies to promote the mental health of migrant adolescents. The thesis was structured by initially examining some more general aspects and then going into the specifics of the project. In this way you have a clear and exhaustive idea of the topic that will be addressed in the following chapters. In the first part, the concept of health and mental health is defined. The topic is particularly interesting because it is explained how the mental health aspect is an integral part of the individual's health. This observation might seem trivial and apparently superficial, however in the discussion it is clear how many organic diseases are deeply affected by the psychological aspect of the individual. Subsequently, the concept of migration and the migrant is framed. The migratory processes in Italy and in the world are discussed and the various aspects of the migratory process are explored. At this point, the typical health problems of the migrant are explored, giving particular importance to the aspect of mental health. In fact, the migratory process is very stressful for the individual and mental health is constantly put at risk. Specific aspects of the young migrant are also analysed. Once having had a complete picture of the topic, the strategies for promoting health and mental health were analyzed with particular attention to the migrant population. In this context, the impact that new technologies have had on health was also analyzed and the methods of using new technologies were analysed, evaluating the positive and negative aspects. After having examined all the various preparatory aspects for the realization of the project, the chosen front-end application was then presented. The entire process that was followed to create the chosen application was illustrated in detail. All the various phases of the research from the conception to the dissemination of the results were discussed. Finally, at the conclusion of the project, some considerations and ideas for future studies were presented.
