Il ruolo dell'Esercito nella gestione dell'ordine pubblico ai confini d'Italia nel secondo dopoguerra (1945-1954)

The objective of the work is the reconstruction of the role of the Army in the post-war period on the borders of Italy. Reconstruction carried out through a large archival documentation, mostly unpublished, which has made it possible to shed light on the methods of monitoring and action on the field implemented by the Army over the period from 1945 to 1954. it is Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige as these border territories have run the greatest risk of being taken away from the Italian administration and which for a short time during the war were incorporated into areas of operations under German control. In particular, an attempt was made to insert the rich military documentation within a broad historical political framework in order to contextualize each individual document. In fact, it is believed that without a correct knowledge of the historical reference framework it is impossible to understand the reason for certain actions and decisions taken by the Armed Forces in those delicate years. From the control of the political situation in South Tyrol passing through the dangers brought by the SVP up to the delicate challenge between intelligence with the famous Yugoslav Ozna, the work was concluded to be able to affirm that the Army has substantially succeeded in completing the challenge to defense of the borders that had been proposed to him.
