In Santa Croce di Magliano, a small town next to Larinum/La- rino (and in Roman times belonging to its territory), a partially reconstructed limestone funerary slab is preserved. The slab, already published in the Na- poleone Stelluti’s volume, recalls the construction by a centurion, L. Tillius Trassa, of a sepulchral monument for himself and his family. In the spring of 2018, prof. Gianfranco De Benedittis, in a deposit by Melanico district (CB), identified a new fragment pertaining to the same slab. The new fragment, in its small sizes, adds an important piece in Trassa’s career: it lets us know that he was a centurion in the legio Prima. The new fragment raises new questions. Presenting the elements that make it possible to chronologically frame the document, here is proposed an identification for the legion of the Santa Croce inscription; and a reflexion on the relations between the family of Til- lius Trassa, those of the roughly contemporary Tillii in the territory of Ve- nafrum and Isernia; and the family of Tillius Sassius, frater Arvalis in the sec- ond half of the 1st century AD.

Abstract
Presenting the elements that make it possible to chronologically frame the document, here is proposed an identification for the legion of the Santa Croce inscription; and a reflexion on the relations between the family of Til- lius Trassa, those of the roughly contemporary Tillii in the territory of Ve- nafrum and Isernia; and the family of Tillius Sassius, frater Arvalis in the sec- ond half of the 1st century AD.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
