Il volume, strutturato in tre sezioni, contiene dieci contributi sviluppati da ricercatori e docenti universitari con esperienze nel microblogging e nei social media. La prima sezione mostra lo stato dell’arte in relazione al microblogging, analizzando la struttura e l’uso formativo di un gruppo di piattaforme sia centralizzate che decentralizzate. Twitter, la più nota piattaforma di microblogging, è l’oggetto della seconda sezione del volume, mentre le altre piattaforme, come Twiducate e Cirip, sono presentate nell’ultima sezione.
