The Discussions section of this issue of Filosofia Morale/Moral Philosophy focuses on the relationship between memory and forgetting. The physical dimension of memory highlights ethical issues related to the possibility of removing traces of memory and manipulating memories to mitigate their emotional impact. In any case, it is the concept of personal and collective identity that is affected by the issues of forgetting. The link between memory and the search for meaning becomes more complex in the experience of confronting evil in history and when faced with the options of “forgiveness”, as the authors in this section encourage us to reflect on.

Abstract
The Discussions section of this issue of Filosofia Morale/Moral Philosophy focuses on the relationship between memory and forgetting. The physical dimension of memory highlights ethical issues related to the possibility of removing traces of memory and manipulating memories to mitigate their emotional impact. In any case, it is the concept of personal and collective identity that is affected by the issues of forgetting. The link between memory and the search for meaning becomes more complex in the experience of confronting evil in history and when faced with the options of “forgiveness”, as the authors in this section encourage us to reflect on.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
