Abstract
The ancient Roman city of Thagaste (today Souk Ahras, Algeria) is not much known archaeologically. There is, however, scattered information (of a literary, archaeological and epigraphic nature); such varied material, combined, helps to identify, hypothetically, the character - e.g. public or private - of certain areas. An attempt has therefore been made to recompose a framework with the few data and documents available, which can nevertheless give an idea of the organisation of the urban and suburban space of the Roman city, developed on the three low hills known as - with a term borrowed from French – ‘mamelons’.File in questo prodotto:
