The Agnone Laboratory, from genesis to restitution. This contribution is intended to illustrate the training, field research and third mission project that was proposed and implemented with the residential workshop “Field research and integrated methods for territorial analysis” dedicated to “Middle Mountains: territorial systems and co-evolutionary dynamics” and organised by the Society for Geographical Studies and the University of Molise (17- 22 July 2023) in Agnone (IS). Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project aimed to explore and valorise new perspectives of sustainable development for inland Italian areas, often reductively interpreted as marginal territories inexorably subject to depopulation and abandonment, with the purpose of overcoming the perception of the apparent “emptiness” caused precisely by abandonment, at least in terms of residency, by reversing it in its potential as a resource according to an imaginary geography approach. The authors present the development of this educational path from genesis to restitution in a context of comparison with other initiatives, confident that the social, cultural and economic dynamics of Agnone and High Molise can offer food for thought to a wide readership, stimulating dialogue between those who live these territories and the researchers who intend to study them.

Abstract
The authors present the development of this educational path from genesis to restitution in a context of comparison with other initiatives, confident that the social, cultural and economic dynamics of Agnone and High Molise can offer food for thought to a wide readership, stimulating dialogue between those who live these territories and the researchers who intend to study them.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
