Abstract

In the Neapolitan historical centre, declared by the UNESCO patrimony of humanity, various and characteristic constructive techniques are noticeable. Among these, the diffused habit to realize the horizontal partitions, especially of the higher levels of the buildings, with wooden ceilings. Moreover, in function of the use of the specific premises, the technique was specialized with particular characterizations, both from the static and the aesthetic point of view. Through measurement and photographic surveys of Neapolitan historical buildings we will illustrate, in this paper, the diverse technical executions. Moreover, we’ll illustrate shortly the recovery possibilities, using wood, of these construction element.
