Within a research program about the traditional architecture of Molise has been discussed and deepened the theme of a building typology very diffused on the territory, that of the rural buildings built to service of the landed properties and of the grazing grounds, displaced along the cattle-tracks. The activities of the landed properties, usually managed by farmers, needed an active an constant presence, insofar was necessary the construction of buildings that guaranteed a solid and comforting lodging, seen the climatic asperities of the territory. These buildings, to a large extent abandoned and structurally very tried by the recent seismic events, they constitute a rich patrimony in the building outline of Molise and they offer innumerable hints for a articulate program of recovery. Within this work, we have individualized a series of buildings: each one of them also in its own constructive originality, has underlined a strong territorial identity, both in the choice of the materials and in the functional distribution, and in the technological solutions adopted.
