Abstract

We present what remains of a rather unusual polychrome mosaic. It has a background of monochrome opus pseudo-figlinum (“a stuoia” or “a canestro”), and a band of crenellated towers framing a field which is irregularly speckled with polychrome crosslets, and has a palmette in the one surviving corner.
