Among the results highlighted by a broader research on the pavements of public squares in central-southern Italy, it should be noted the existence of squares with brick paving. This work, based on the published documentation, therefore wishes to draw the attention of scholars to these findings, which constitute an interesting exception among the pavements of ancient squares, in an attempt to understand the reasons for such a choice.
