Territory production is intended as any process of spatial transformation deriving from a sustainable and reciprocal dialogue between local communities and their spatial context along history time; the territory is a dynamic but durable balance between human settlements and their environments. The competitive advantage of territories and their economic actors does no longer depend on the technological innovation but also on the ability of the territorial system to capture the social demand for innovation towards better life quality in cities and in general on territories. The Periphèria project, started in November 2010, will set up an Observatory of LLs and Smart Cities oriented to network their innovation experiences towards territorial development.

Abstract
Territory production is intended as any process of spatial transformation deriving from a sustainable and reciprocal dialogue between local communities and their spatial context along history time; the territory is a dynamic but durable balance between human settlements and their environments. The competitive advantage of territories and their economic actors does no longer depend on the technological innovation but also on the ability of the territorial system to capture the social demand for innovation towards better life quality in cities and in general on territories. The Periphèria project, started in November 2010, will set up an Observatory of LLs and Smart Cities oriented to network their innovation experiences towards territorial development.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
