The paper is included in a text about organizational behavior and focuses on the relationship between organizational corporate policies and the various and heterogeneous profiles detectable in the context of human resources in the organization. Diversity Management is represented as the mix of analytical and decision-making tools aimed at the detection and management of the problems that the objective and inevitable differences between people and groups generates, according to a vision-oriented, not so much to the "removal" or "cancellation" of the phenomenon , but rather to its "value" and constructive outcomes. The work starts from the identification of the sources of organizational diversity (primary and secondary) and, through the elaboration of a dynamic conceptual framework (causes, effects, implications of diversity management), focuses on some of the most common sources of diversity (age, gender, culture); in the second part an operational reflection about the potential benefits of diversity, tools and managerial levers of Diversity Management is developed . In the third part some operating results of a field survey are examined and a critical reading of Diversity Management programs is proposed (managerial rhetoric, fashions, control and power manteinance).

Il saggio è inserito in un testo sul tema del Comportamento Organizzativo e si concentra sul rapporto tra le politiche organizzative aziendali e la varietà ed eterogeneità dei profili umani e comportamentali rilevabili nel contesto delle risorse umane presenti nell’organizzazione. Il Diversity Management viene rappresentato come il mix di strumenti analitici e decisionali volti alla rilevazione e gestione dei problemi che l’oggettiva ed inevitabile diversità tra le persone e i gruppi genera, secondo una visione orientata non tanto alla “rimozione” o “annullamento” del fenomeno, ma piuttosto alla sua “valorizzazione” e alla costruzione di contributi costruttivi. Il lavoro parte dalla individuazione sistematica delle fonti della diversità organizzativa (primarie e secondarie) passando per la elaborazione di uno schema concettuale dinamico (cause, effetti, implicazioni gestionali delle diversità) e soffermandosi su alcune delle più diffuse fonti della diversità (età, genere, cultura) per sviluppare nella seconda parte una riflessione operativa circa i potenziali vantaggi della diversità, gli strumenti e le leve manageriali del Diversity Management. Nella terza parte vengono esaminati e commentati alcuni casi operativi frutto di una indagine di campo e viene proposta una lettura critica in merito ai programmi di Diversity Management posti in essere (retorica manageriale, mode, controllo). |
