The essay is related to the topic of History of Architecture teaching held in Italian University System. Starting from the results of a quantitative survey, conducted for the first time in Italy, the author focuses on the organization of teaching in all curricular paths, bringing out an unprecedented cross-section of the discipline. This analysis raises the need to deepen the role of both architectural history and architectural historians, no longer only with respect to the domain of the Architecture and the Engineering, but in a more complex sphere of further disciplinary knowledge and professions.

Abstract

The essay is related to the topic of History of Architecture teaching held in Italian University System.
