The ambitious Exhibition of 1926 marked a period of incubation in which the business cycle was confronted with the imaginary, not only symbolic, of Italian small-medium-sized cities, as Novara, which underwent a special growth period in the early twentieth century. The study is based on the materials published by the Exhibition Committee, the historical press and the documents preserved in the Archive of State of Novara, in the Historical Archive of the Chamber of Commerce of Novara, in Central Library of the Polytechnic of Milan, and especially in the Public Library of Novara.
L’ambizioso evento del 1926 segnò un periodo di incubazione in cui si cercava di mettere a confronto il ciclo degli affari con l’immaginario, non solo simbolico, delle piccole-medie città del paese, come Novara, cresciute senza precedenti nei primi anni del Novecento. Lo studio si basa sui materiali editi dal comitato dell’Esposizione, sulla pubblicistica d’epoca e su documenti conservati nell’Archivio di Stato di Novara, nell’Archivio storico della Camera di Commercio di Novara, nella Biblioteca Centrale del Politecnico di Milano, e soprattutto nella Biblioteca Civica Carlo Negroni di Novara.
