The paper aims to highlight, the involvement of Italian teachers in the interventionist and nationalist policies during the I War World, by analysing some aspects of the Unione Generale degli Insegnanti d’Italia (Teachers’ General Union of Italy), a new associative experience. In particular it, examines the change of functions and ideas of teacher in the school, in the context of participation to the civil mobilization for supporting the inland frontline and the nationalist propaganda.
