Are presented two groups of ceramic materials from excavations in the ancient Alliphae (Alife, Caserta). The first group consists of kiln-wasters of thin-walled pottery dating in Augustan or Tiberian age. This local production of thin-walled pottery could be identified with the Allifana pocula cited by Horace (Serm. II, 8, 39). The second group consists of kitchen ware produced in a kiln, placed outside the city-walls, dismantled in the late second century AD. Several over-fired and deformed vessels allow us to ascribe to this kiln the production of a pot imitating the African casserole Hayes 197.
