Dal 1993 al 2000 la Società Botanica Italiana, nell’ambito di un progetto Life Natura di cui il Ministero dell’Ambiente è stato benefi ciario, ha effettuato un censimento degli habitat prioritari dell’allegato I della direttiva 92/43/CEE presenti in Italia. Vengono illustrati il percorso di realizzazione del progetto e sintetizzati i risultati ottenuti. È inoltre riportata un’analisi della distribuzione degli habitat censiti sul territorio nazionale in relazione alle aree protette iscritte nel terzo aggiornamento dell’Elenco Uffi ciale delle Aree Naturali Protette. From 1993 to 2000 the Italian Botanical Society, within a Life Nature project of what the Ministry of Environment has been benefi ciary, has performed an inventory of priority habitat included in annex 1 of the directive 93/43/CEE, present in Italy. The realization phases of the project are presented and the results summarized. Furthermore, an analysis of the distribution of the inventoried habitat on the national territory with respect to the protected areas included in the third update of the Natural Protected Areas Official List is reported.
