The work examines the difficulties that arise within the Mediterranean Sea and, in general, in closed or semi-enclosed seas, in relation to the establishment and consequent delimitation of exclusive economic zones between states with opposite or adjacent coasts. The analysis, also from a geopolitical point of view, takes its cue from the recent delimitation agreement between Turkey and Libya. The examination of its possible repercussions within the Mediterranean scenarios confirms the emergence of delicate application problems concerning the creation of the exclusive economic zone, as conceived within the Montego Bay Convention of 1982, in the context of restricted sea basins.

Abstract
The work examines the difficulties that arise within the Mediterranean Sea and, in general, in closed or semi-enclosed seas, in relation to the establishment and consequent delimitation of exclusive economic zones between states with opposite or adjacent coasts. The analysis, also from a geopolitical point of view, takes its cue from the recent delimitation agreement between Turkey and Libya. The examination of its possible repercussions within the Mediterranean scenarios confirms the emergence of delicate application problems concerning the creation of the exclusive economic zone, as conceived within the Montego Bay Convention of 1982, in the context of restricted sea basins.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
